Biography Nothing is known of this donor except he was resident in Dorchester, Oxfordshire according to accession records [Alison Petch [as part of 'The Other Within' project 2006-9] 13/02/2007] A number of items from this collection are listed and illustrated in A Summary Catalogue of the Anglo-Saxon Collections (Non-Ferrous Metals) (British Archaeological Reports, British Series, No. 230), by Arthur MacGregor and Ellen Bolick (with metal analyses by Catherine Mortimer and photographs by Nick Pollard), Oxford: Ashmolean Museum, in association with Tempvs Reparatvm (1993).

English collections Skull + part of skeleton with animal bones, bronze key, coin, fibulae, rings etc. + some potsherds, from a Roman burial dug up in digging gravel near the Recreation Ground, Dorchester. No longer in Museum's collections. Transferred to Department of Antiquities, Ashmolean Museum in 1940.
