Biography Nothing is known of this collector who was probably an Oxford resident, but he may have been a workman involved in dredging the stream as the stone tool was purchased from petty cash. A James R. Corby [NB note spelling discrepancy] is listed in the 1901 census as being aged 26, born and lived in Oxford in St Thomas with a profession of river bridger who might be the same person [Alison Petch [as part of 'The Other Within' project 2006-9] 04/01/2007]
