Biography Little is known of this donor except that he served as Clerk to the local magistrates and secretary to the Gas Works in Caistor, Lincolnshire where he lived according to various websites. According to the 1901 census he was aged 49, born in Lincoln and lived in Caistor and was a solicitor. In the 29.6.1885 Sporting Intelligence he is mentioned to be a Captain in the Ist Volunteer Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment [Alison Petch [as part of 'The Other Within' project 2006-9] 04/01/2007]
