Basil Charles Allchin

Career Academic / Musician

Biography Organist and music teacher and administrator. Basil Allchin was the Assistant Organist at Christ Church, Oxford and Organist at Hertford College, Oxford also. He also taught music at Exeter College, Oxford around the early 1920s. Between 1935-1939 he was the Registrar of the Royal College of Music. He wrote a music book for pianoforte [Alison Petch [as part of 'The Other Within' project 2006-9] 30/11/2006]
