Biography County magistrate in 1895, resident in Rex House Bridport according to accession records and the Morning Chronicle 8.9.1845]. In the Morning Chronicle of 17.10.1845 he is described as being 'merchant and ship owner, commissioner of Bridport Harbour'. In the 1901 census he is probably the William Colfox listed as 'aged 74 born and lived in Allington, Dorset who was a retired woolstapler and county magistrate' [Alison Petch [as part of 'The Other Within' project 2006-9] 03/01/2007]
