In the 1901 census several Caudwells are listed including Cuthbert Caudwell, aged 44, born and resident in Drayton who was a farmer, Mervyn L. Caudwell, aged 19, who was a farmer's son, and also born and living in Drayton, Eli Caudwell aged 53, Maurice E. Caudwell aged 26, and Selwyn Caudwell aged 22, all born in Drayton and living in Blewbury who were farmers (presumably most if not all of these listed were related). Any of them could be this Caudwell [Alison Petch [as part of 'The Other Within' project 2006-9] 05/01/2007]
