English collections Wax figure of a seated person holding a spear in one hand and a staff-like object in the other. The figure was made in the Mappin Art Gallery, Sheffield by the Indian metal craftsman Lakshmannan. He and about eight other craftsmen and women from different parts of India toured with the exhibition The Living Arts of India, organised by the Arts Council of Great Britain in 1981 / 1982. The figures 1999.42.1 and 1999.42.2 were given to the donor by Lakshmannan, the maker.
