Biography From 1845 he worked within Oxford University, first as Dr Lee's Readership in anatomy at Christ Church and, after 1857 as regius professor of medicine and clinical professor at the Radcliffe Infirmary. In 1851 he was appointed Radcliffe librarian. He made many contributions to the growth of the teaching of natural sciences at the University during the nineteenth century.
