Biography He obviously had a wide ranging collection which included firearms and stone tools etc from other countries, but nothing is known of the collector. If it is J. Beck then he was a Reverend, a large number of objects came in via other sources, mostly dealers in 1897 from the Beck collection, it seems to have been sold in 1897, this is why it was attributed to this individual [Alison Petch [as part of 'The Other Within' project 2006-9] 06/12/2006]
