Biography Arms manufacturer based in Birmingham. Founded at end of eighteenth century by William Davies who made bullet moulds, taken over in 1834 by his son-in-law Philip Webley and in 1897 it amalgamated with W & C Scott to become The Webley and Scott Revolver and Arms Company of Birmingham. Famous for its revolvers and automatic pistols it supplied to the British Army from 1887 to end of Second World War [Alison Petch [as part of 'The Other Within' project 2006-9] 03/05/2007]
